About The Team We Are Recruiting To

The Insight Team's role is to question, influence and provide understanding to make life better in Coventry.
The Insight Team collects, analyses, interprets and publishes a wide range of insights about the city, and engages with residents, communities and partners to champion a culture of evidence-based decision-making across Coventry.
Activities undertaken by the Insight team include:
- Business intelligence
- Customer and location intelligence
- Engagement and consultation support
- Evaluative research
- Performance management
- Partnership working
- Providing advice and guidance on equalities and diversity issues and ensuring the Council discharges its Public Sector Equality Duty
Areas of work supported by the Insight team include:
- Children's services
- Compliments, comments and complaints
- Customer services
- Geographical information systems
- Growth and prosperity
- Housing and homelessness
- Local land and property gazetteer
- Population health management
- Social care
Please note that this is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 40% of your working week to be spent in the office.
What is the job role?
We are looking for a Business Intelligence and Insights Analyst to join the Performance and Insights Team with your initial focus being on supporting Children Social Care Services working within a very busy, innovative, forward-thinking team. We are working together with Children Services to bring positive change in the lives of people in the city.
The BI and Insights Analyst role will be to:
- Take a lead on specific intelligence performance reporting and insights.
- To support the council to better understand its data through enabling data linkages, modelling and visualisation.
- You will work closely with relevant services to provide intelligence and insight to make decisions to improve and strengthen their performance.
The role will also include working across the Planning and Informatics Team on different projects.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have;
- Knowledge of reporting and data systems
- knowledge of performance and reporting frameworks
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex issues and exercise critical judgement in arriving at practical solutions
- Partnership working skills
- Interpersonal and influencing skills
- Excellent IT Skills (Power BI, SQL)
