Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in platelet and thrombosis research?Do you want to further your career in one of the UK's leading research intensive Universities?
Research is focussed on the understanding the mechanisms that drive platelet hyperactivity in cardiometabolic disease. The current post is a British Heart Foundation funded project that will examine the role of phosphodiesterases in platelets. It is based in the research group of Professor Khalid Naseem who leads a research group that seeks to identify novel biochemical and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the regulation of blood platelet activity and thrombosis. A range of techniques will be used in this project including the isolation of blood platelets, immunoblotting and immunoprecipitation, and the development of in vivo models of thrombosis and vascular inflammation.
What does the role entail?
As Research Fellow your main duties will include:
These duties provide a framework for the role and should not be regarded as a definitive list. Other reasonable duties may be required consistent with the grade of the post.
