Job summary

Fidra Energy is seeking a Shift Team Leader to oversee the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) on a 24/7 basis, leading a team of technicians and ensuring safe, reliable operations while responding to on-site emergencies in line with grid requirements.

You will coordinate with the Operations Manager and maintenance teams to maximise asset performance and availability, maintaining safety and operational excellence across shifts.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a shift-based operational setting.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures.
• Experience with SCADA or control systems.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage incidents effectively.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise shift personnel to ensure safe and efficient site operations.
• Act as the responsible person in charge of the site during the assigned shift.
• Coordinate real-time operation of the BESS in line with grid requirements and dispatch instructions.
• Monitor system performance using SCADA and other control systems.
• Through the setting to work process ensure the application of general safety requirements and the Safety Rules for self, Fidra Operations staff and contract staff.
• Lead incident response and reporting, including initial investigations.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to minimise downtime and optimise asset performance.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to shift team members.
