Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Electrical Project Manager for a 6‑month contract in the Energy division, delivering projects across transmission, distribution and substations for major clients. Leeds-based role, focused on delivering within tight schedules and within regulatory constraints.

Ideally you will have experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and National Grid connections, plus NEC contracts and strong budgeting/planning skills to manage a portfolio of complex projects in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Experience managing energy/utility projects across 11kV–400kV.
• Strong understanding of HV networks, substations and utility construction environments.
• Experience with NEC contract frameworks and commercial management.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of complex projects and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Budgeting, estimating and CVR cost-control capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy/utility projects within transmission and distribution sectors.
• Coordinate with National Grid, SSE, UKPN, SSEN and other major clients.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules and risk mitigation.
• Ensure safe, compliant and on-time delivery of multi-site substations and HV works.

Grenn Scout have engaged exclusively with Industry leader withing the Energy division, who provide solutions across private networks, renewable energy, battery energy storage solutions (BESS), data centres, HVDC and electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Due to continued success winning multiple new projects, they require an Electrical Project Manager on a 6 month contract.

Ideally you will have previous experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems and National Grid Substations.

This role typically supports major clients including National Grid, SSE, UKPN, and SSEN, across a portfolio of Electrical Transmission, Distribution, and Substation Build projects ranging from 11kV to 400kV.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience managing energy/utility projects, ideally across electrical transmission and distribution (11kV–400kV).
• Strong understanding of HV networks, substations, switchgear, and utility construction environments.
• Experience with NEC contract frameworks and commercial management.
• Ability to manage a portfolio of complex projects and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Strong planning, budgeting, estimating, and cost‑control capability, including CVR work.
• Competent user of digital tools and project management software.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Project management certification (e.g., APM, PRINCE2) preferred.
• SMSTS or equivalent safety certification
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
