Job summary

TrinaSolar in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on engineer to support on-site installation and commissioning of energy storage projects. You will supervise site activities, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with contractors to deliver equipment on time.

The role requires a suitable engineering degree and substantial experience with electrical equipment in Solar PV or BESS projects, including adherence to BS 7671 standards. Frequent travel and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Suitable engineering degree or qualifications.
• Related experience in commissioning or maintenance of electrical equipment in Solar PV/BESS projects.
• Must have experience adhering to safety regulations (CDM) in operational settings.
• Strong site experience and hands-on mentality.
• Familiar with electrical standards (BS 7671, 18th edition).
• Ability to adapt to dynamic conditions and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills interfacing with contractors, suppliers, client reps.
• CSCS card holder or equivalent.
• MS Office, SCADA and MODBUS experience a plus.
• Willingness to travel heavily for existing/new Energy Storage fleet.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support and execute on-site installations and commissioning works.
• Support project execution efforts and supervise site activities.
• Ensure compliance with H&S policies by suppliers and contractors.
• Ensure smooth delivery of equipment on site.
• Report site progress to engineering and project manager.
• Assist in resolving quality issues and punch lists.
• Support development of service and maintenance structures.
