Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Business Development Manager for bespoke packaging, based in the Walsall area with UK-wide travel. You will hunter new business opportunities, build a strong pipeline and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to securing orders.

The role offers a £35,000–£55,000 salary plus industry-leading commission and a car allowance, with progression opportunities as the sales function grows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development or B2B sales.
• Hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business.
• Experience selling premium or bespoke packaging products is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships with senior decision makers.

Responsibilities

• Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across the UK.
• Develop a strong pipeline of prospective customers.
• Take a proactive, hunter-led approach to business development, generating opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, market research and direct engagement.
• Build relationships with brand owners, marketing teams, procurement professionals and other key decision makers.
• Promote premium packaging solutions tailored specifically to each customer's requirements.
• Understand customer branding and marketing objectives and identify opportunities where bespoke packaging can add value and differentiate their products.
• Arrange and attend customer meetings and site visits throughout the UK.
• Work closely with internal design, production and commercial teams to develop suitable packaging solutions and progress opportunities from initial enquiry through to sale.
• Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals, ensuring solutions are aligned with customer requirements and commercially viable.
• Attend relevant trade shows, networking events and industry activities to generate new leads and increase market presence.
• Maintain accurate records of prospects, opportunities and sales activity through the company's internal systems.
• Take ownership of the full new-business sales process, from initial prospecting through to securing the order and establishing the relationship.
• Develop a long-term strategy for growing sales and expanding the company's customer base.
