Job summary

Metalis Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading specialist engineering business in Chesterfield to recruit an experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter. This hands-on role involves assembling bespoke machinery and lifting equipment across sub-assemblies and full builds.

You will read and interpret drawings, work with stainless and mild steel, use various hand tools, and perform quality checks to meet stringent standards. The role offers a 12-week temp-to-perm path and daily days.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical fitting and assembly experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient with a range of hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control.
• Solid understanding of health & safety within engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke machinery and lifting equipment.
• Work on sub-assemblies and complete/main builds.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Carry out quality checks and report issues or stock shortages.
• Support site installations and other engineering activities when required.
