Job summary

People's Partnership is seeking a Team Manager to lead the Bereavement & Accident function, driving performance, governance, and continuous improvement within a not-for-profit, hybrid-working environment.

You will guide a team of claims assessors, handle complex, high-risk cases, and ensure investigations are thorough and decisions are evidence-based, aligned with scheme rules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience leading operational teams within a regulated financial services environment.
• People management including coaching, performance management and engagement.
• Strong technical understanding of bereavement, accident, ill-health or other complex claims processes.
• Ability to review, challenge and support complex claims investigations with evidence-based decisions.
• Strong knowledge of pensions legislation, scheme rules, governance processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience managing operational performance via service levels, quality standards, risk indicators and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a team of Bereavement & Accident Claims Assessors and Specialists to deliver customer outcomes.
• Act as the operational escalation point for complex, high-risk, vulnerable or complaint-related claims.
• Review investigations, evidence and recommendations at governance checkpoints for robust decisions.
• Be accountable for team performance against objectives, service levels, quality standards, and KPIs.
