Benugo is seeking an experienced Barista to join the Science and Industry Museum café in Manchester. The role focuses on delivering high-quality coffee and tea to museum visitors in a lively, welcoming setting.

Located within the Science and Industry Museum, the café serves diverse guests seven days a week in line with museum hours. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering excellent service and maintaining food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preparing and serving drinks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea beverages.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of coffees and teas served.
• Support the Team Leader and Café Manager to train the team.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join the team at Science and Industry Museum

Located within the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester, our café offers a dynamic and welcoming working environment at one of the city's most popular visitor attractions. Serving museum visitors, families, school groups, tourists, and local guests throughout the day, the café is a vibrant and fast-paced operation where no two days are the same.

We pride ourselves on creating a warm, family-friendly atmosphere that complements the museum experience. Excellent customer service, efficiency, and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do, helping visitors enjoy a memorable day out. We are looking for energetic, personable Baristas who thrive in busy environments, enjoy engaging with a wide variety of customers, and can consistently deliver high standards during peak trading periods.

Successful candidates will bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for coffee and hospitality. A proactive approach, ability to work as part of a close-knit team, and commitment to creating a welcoming experience for guests of all ages are essential.

Our café operates seven days a week in line with museum opening hours, including weekends and school holidays, when visitor numbers are at their highest

About the Barista role:

Preparing and serving coffee and tea drinks

Developing and maintaining expert knowledge of coffee and tea served at Benugo

Supporting the Team Leader and Cafe Managerintraining the team

Properly handlingand maintaining all coffee equipment

Ensuring the customers experience is maintained at all times to the highest standard

Ensuring that food safety standards are always followed

• General cleaning duties and general tasks across the site

Previous experience preparing and serving drinks is required.
