Job summary

BESPOKE – Master Event Producers is seeking freelance bench joiners and fabricators for Rochester workshops. You will manufacture and assemble high-quality event structures and bespoke joinery items based on technical drawings, ensuring accuracy, safety and timely delivery for production teams.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, framing, fitting decorative elements, and preparing items for transport and on-site installation.

Role Description Freelance Bench Joiners and Fabricator roles based in Rochester. The role involves manufacturing and assembling high-quality event structures, set pieces, and bespoke joinery items according to technical drawings and project specifications. Responsibilities include measuring and cutting materials, constructing frames, installing finishes, and preparing items for transport and on-site installation. You will operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely, ensure work areas are organized, and collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and site crews to meet production timelines. The role also includes quality checking finished items, following health and safety procedures, and contributing to continuous improvements in workshop processes.

Qualifications

• Strong carpentry skills with experience in bench joinery and fabrication for events, sets, or interiors.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, with a focus on safe and efficient operation.
• Experience in framing and structural assembly of timber and related materials.
• Skills in finish carpentry, including accurate measuring, cutting, and fitting of decorative elements.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and build plans.
• Attention to detail, commitment to high-quality workmanship, and pride in craft.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a busy workshop environment.
