Job summary

Bodnant Joinery Ltd in the Conwy Valley, North Wales, is seeking an experienced Bench Joiner to join our workshop team. This full-time, permanent role offers 40 hours per week and a starting salary from £30,000, depending on experience.

You will read drawings, machine and assemble bespoke timber joinery for windows, doors and staircases, with a pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail. You should have at least 3 years’ bench joinery experience and a relevant qualification or apprenticeship

Company Description

Bodnant Joinery Ltd is an established bespoke joinery manufacturer based in the Conwy Valley, North Wales. Our work ranges from individual pieces and smaller projects through to high-end residential, commercial and heritage work — with the same standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail at every scale.

We manufacture bespoke timber windows, doors, staircases, gates, fitted furniture and restoration joinery, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern manufacturing methods.

We are now looking for an experienced Bench Joiner to join our workshop team.

The Role

This is a hands-on workshop role for an experienced joiner who takes genuine pride in their workmanship and enjoys producing high-quality bespoke joinery.

You will work on a varied range of projects, manufacturing products from technical drawings and specifications through to completion. Projects can include traditional and contemporary windows and doors, staircases, restoration work, fitted furniture and one-off bespoke commissions.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture and assemble bespoke timber windows, doors, frames, staircases and other joinery products.
• Accurately read and work from technical drawings, specifications and job information.
• Set out, cut, machine and assemble timber components accurately.
• Use workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Carry out your own quality checks throughout the manufacturing process.
• Ensure finished products meet required quality and dimensional standards.
• Identify and raise any issues with drawings, measurements or specifications before proceeding.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules and agreed deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Work independently while contributing positively to the wider workshop team.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Bench Joiner who is confident producing bespoke timber joinery to a high standard and can work accurately from drawings with minimal supervision.

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' relevant bench joinery experience.
• Proven experience manufacturing bespoke timber joinery.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and modern joinery techniques.
• Experience manufacturing timber doors, windows or other complex joinery.
• The ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in your workmanship.
• Good practical problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• A reliable, professional and positive approach.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A relevant joinery qualification or apprenticeship would be advantageous.

JoinerySoft experience or knowledge would also be advantageous, but is not essential.
