Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Bench Fitter to assemble, refurbish and test pump-related components in a role based near Killamarsh, Sheffield. Candidates with pump fitting or marine backgrounds, mechanical apprenticeships, and drawing-reading skills are preferred.

The job offers a pay rate of £16.93 per hour, standard hours Mon-Thu 8:00-16:30 and Fri 8:00-15:30, plus a pension scheme and 33 days holiday. Commutable distance to Sheffield is expected.

Qualifications

• A Mechanical engineering qualification would be advantageous.
• Previous experience with assembly / disassembly and repair of pumps / engines or motors is essential.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Able to use small hand tools and manual machinery.
• A close attention to detail and initiative.
• Experience working to ISO 9001 quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the assembly of pump-related components and sub-assemblies.
• Carry out refurbishment works on existing machinery.
• Prepare and create parts lists for assembly.
• Perform functionality tests to check for mechanical or electrical faults.
• Prepare completed equipment for client or factory testing.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.

Job description

Position: Bench Fitter

Location: Killamarsh, Sheffield

Hourly rate: 16.93 per hour (£34,334 per annum)

Assembly Operative required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful Candidate will be undertaking assembly, disassembly and repair works on Diesel Pumps, Gearboxes and Diesel Engines. It is envisioned that the successful candidate will come from a background in Marine or Pump Fitting, have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield.

Bench Fitter Position Overview

• Carrying out assembly of pump related components and sub-assemblies
• Conduct refurbishment works to existing machinery.
• Preparation and creation of parts lists for assembly.
• Carrying out functionality tests to check for mechanical or electrical faults in order to comply with strict quality standards.
• Preparation of completed equipment for client or factory testing.
• Adhering to Health & Safety and other regulations/standards-thus maintaining a safe working environment.

£16.93 per hour

Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30, Friday 8:00 - 15:30
