Job summary

Ashton Recruitment is working with an established freight forwarding business to recruit an experienced Freight Forwarding Coordinator for its Belfast City Centre operation.

The role involves end-to-end shipment management, with a focus on sea freight (RoRo and deep-sea) and necessary road transport to deliver door-to-door solutions. You will liaise with carriers, customers and logistics partners to ensure accurate costing and timely invoicing.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, shipping or international logistics.
• Strong IT skills, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage freight movements end-to-end, from enquiry to final delivery and invoicing.
• Coordinate RoRo and deep-sea movements, alongside road transport.
• Arrange collections and deliveries for door-to-door solutions.
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers and international logistics partners.
• Source competitive freight rates and prepare quotations.
• Manage designated customer accounts and act as main contact throughout shipment.
• Track shipments and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Coordinate shipping documentation and PODs.
• Investigate delays and invoice queries.
