Behavioural Support Worker Required in Weymouth!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on students' behaviour and well-being? A local secondary school in Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Behavioural Support Worker to join their team to support students' social and emotional development.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in implementing behaviour support plans (BSPs) developed by teachers and SENCO, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them understand and manage their emotions and behaviours in various settings.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment by reinforcing positive behaviour and social skills among students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals to develop and review behaviour intervention strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Monitor student behaviour and progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as needed.
  • Support teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment by implementing proactive strategies and providing assistance during lessons.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges in educational or similar settings.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to effectively support students in managing behaviour and emotions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive school community.
