Job description

Axcis Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with challenging behaviours in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hartcliffe, Bristol. This is a full-time, term-time only position (8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday), offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young learners.

The Role:
  1. Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  2. Implementing behaviour management strategies to support pupils in regulating their emotions.
  3. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team to create a structured and nurturing environment.
  4. Supporting pupils to engage with learning and develop positive relationships.
  5. Encouraging resilience, independence, and self-confidence in pupils.
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Experience supporting children with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs is highly desirable.
  2. A patient, proactive, and understanding approach to working with children.
  3. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  4. A team player with excellent communication skills.
  5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
