Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant in Monmouthshire, South Wales, to support pupils with behavioural and learning needs. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to promote positive behaviour, routines, and inclusive learning in a busy school environment.

You should have an Enhanced DBS, relevant ALN support experience, and EWC registration, with safeguarding training or compliance checks completed.

Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant

Location: Monmouthshire, South Wales

Salary: £120 per day minimum

Employment Type: Full time - Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m

Job Description

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant in Monmouthshire, you will play a key role in helping pupils thrive in a supportive school setting. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing consistent behavioural and learning support while working alongside experienced education professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils to manage behaviour positively, promoting engagement, routines, and emotional regulation
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and behavioural needs, adapting support to individual plans
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to implement behaviour strategies, record progress, and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment

Requirements & Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Relevant experience supporting children/young people in an education setting (e.g., classroom support, behaviour support, ALN support)
• EWC registration (Education Workforce Council) and completion of safeguarding training / compliance checks
