Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist school in Bradford to recruit a Behaviour Support Worker for September start. The role involves 1:1 and classroom support, helping pupils manage behaviour and engage with learning.

Personal care and manual handling may be required, in a safe setting. You will join a friendly team in a specialist educational environment, supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, and complex needs across Key Stages.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs (SEMH or similar).
• Ability to provide personal care and assist with manual handling when needed.
• Experience working 1:1 and in classroom settings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a calm, patient approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and in-classroom support to pupils with behavioural needs.
• Help pupils regulate behaviour and engage with learning to achieve positive outcomes.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming specialist school in Bradford that supports pupils across all Key Stages with a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), autism, and complex behavioural needs. The school is looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Worker for either long-term or day-to-day work starting in September. The successful Behaviour Support Worker will provide both 1:1 and classroom support, helping pupils to regulate their behaviour, engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes, while confidently carrying out personal care and manual handling where required.

The successful Behaviour Support Worker will have:

• Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs, SEMH or additional needs
• Confidence providing personal care and manual handling support
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis and within a classroom environment
• The ability to build positive relationships and effectively manage challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A calm, patient and resilient approach
