Job summary

Lightcliffe Academy in Halifax is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker. The role is permanent and term-time only, with 38 weeks plus 5 days (39 weeks) per year. The salary is £22,709–£24,205 actual, based on 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

The post supports students with behaviour in lessons and around school, leads restorative conversations in The Hub, and involves supervising detentions while building strong relationships with vulnerable students and their families.

• Nature of Contract: Permanent, term time only, 38 weeks per year plus 5 days (39 weeks)


• FTE Salary: GRADE B3, scp 7 - 11, £26,403 to £28,142 per annum, pro rata


• Actual Salary: £22,709 - £24,205, based on 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year


• Working Hours: 37 per week

We are looking for a dedicated individual who can:

• Support students with behaviour in lessons and around school


• Support and lead sessions in The Hub to ensure students have opportunities to reflect and have restorative conversations


• Undertake the supervision of detentions


• Establish positive working relationships with vulnerable students and their families in order to support their needs in school
