Behaviour Support Worker - Gloucester

Are you passionate about supporting young people and interested in gaining hands-on experience in SEMH, behaviour and specialist education?

A specialist education setting in Gloucester is looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. You'll be supporting students who may experience social, emotional and mental health needs, behavioural challenges and barriers to learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build valuable experience before pursuing a career in psychology, youth work, counselling, mental health or specialist education.

The Role - Behaviour Support Worker

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent source of support
  • Support young people with SEMH, behavioural and additional learning needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and positive coping strategies
  • Support students who may struggle within a mainstream classroom environment
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and other professionals to provide consistent support
  • Help create a calm, safe and positive learning environment
