Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join a positive and nurturing school in Blandford. This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

As a Behaviour Support Worker, the role involves helping students who find it hard to manage their behaviour in the classroom. The focus is on keeping them calm, focused, and ready to learn. You will listen with patience, understand their needs, and encourage them to make positive choices.

What You’ll Do Each Day:

  • Build good relationships with children who need extra care and support.
  • Help set up activities that are calm, focused, and welcoming for everyone.
  • Step in when students feel overwhelmed, offering gentle guidance and care.
  • Join classroom sessions and make learning easier for those who struggle.
  • Be part of school life — from playtime to trips— making sure all students feel included.
  • Notice small wins, track progress, and share successes with the team.
  • Work with staff to keep the school a kind, safe place for all children to learn and grow.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working with children who need extra emotional or behavioural help is desirable.

  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and respond with kindness.
