An excellent Specialist School in Westbury is currently looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join them on a long-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychology or Criminology graduate, or experienced Teaching Assistant to develop experience with Special Educational Needs and Behaviour, and help support their mental health.
The SEN School is looking for a confident, dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and passionate about mental health. Ideally, you will have experience working with children previously - this could be in any capacity, whether it is voluntary work, babysitting or in a sports setting! Experience with challenging behaviour would also be greatly beneficial.
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will be working with children aged 11 to 16 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma and behaviour challenges. You will help keep all the pupils focused and on task in the classroom and help to manage their behaviour. Alongside their class work, you will help the students understand and process their own emotions and struggles, and support their emotional well-being. The school focuses on alternative forms of education, so expect many arts and crafts, outdoor activities and cooking!
