SEN Teaching Assistant - Challenging Behaviour Support - Faringdon

ASAP Start - £89 - £95 per day dependent on experience

There is an exciting opportunity to secure a 1 year contract at an 'Outstanding' two form entry Mainstream Primary School based in Faringdon. This is a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant opportunity. The school is looking for someone to support a small cohort of children who display challenging behaviour and have social, emotional mental health needs. A one year contract is on offer. Experience with SEMH, ASD, team teach training, ADHD and a teaching assistant with experience in a similar position is suitable for this role. The position begins ASAP.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support SEND children within each class based on their individual needs.
  2. Manage and assist children with ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, global delay, SEMH, and other physical and behavioural challenges.
  3. Utilize confidence and experience to control and calm challenging behaviour.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Degree preferred.
  2. Experience working with Special Educational Needs.
  3. Minimum GCSE in Maths and English graded C or above.

This is a fantastic platform for aspiring teachers to gain valuable experience in preparation for completing their teacher training the following year. This is a teacher training school meaning that successful TAs can consequently be enrolled on to the School's Direct Teacher Training Programme in September 2026.
