Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Experience supporting behaviour, SEMH or additional learning needs is advantageous.
• A calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
• A genuine commitment to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted support to pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional challenges.
• Work alongside teachers to support positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
• Help pupils develop strategies to manage behaviour and remain engaged in learning.
• Promote a calm, safe and structured classroom environment.
• Monitor behaviour and provide relevant feedback to teachers and pastoral staff.
• Support pupils individually or in small groups where appropriate.
