Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join Tendring Secondary School in Essex. You will work with students requiring additional behavioural, emotional or social support, building trust and mentoring to help them improve choices and engagement.

In this role you will provide 1:1 and small group support, help implement behaviour strategies, and collaborate with teachers and external partners to maintain a calm, inclusive environment that supports student success.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with behavioural, emotional, or social needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Experience in 1:1 and small group mentoring.
• Experience in schools or youth work preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Work with students needing behavioural, emotional or social support.
• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring sessions.
• Develop and deliver behaviour improvement strategies.
• Assist in managing incidents and restorative conversations.
• Liaise with staff, pastoral teams and external agencies.
• Help maintain a calm, safe, inclusive school environment.
