Job summary

Plymstock School in Plymouth seeks a dedicated Behaviour Support Coordinator to support a caring learning environment and to implement the school’s CORE approach: Conduct, Organisation, Respect, and Effort. The role focuses on complementing staff with behaviour policy implementation and targeted interventions to help identified pupils achieve learning goals.

The post is permanent, 37 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with Grade D 8–14 pay scale; supervision will be provided by the line

Qualifications

• Recent experience of working closely with children and young people to support improvements in behaviours and attitudes.
• Understanding of the issues related to the motivation, behaviours and attitudes of young people.
• Understanding of the current issues related to disengagement of young people with education.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop successful working relationships.
• Experience of working with individuals/groups in or out of the classroom.
