About the Role:

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work alongside experienced teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to deliver structured interventions and support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. • Building strong, trusting relationships with students and acting as a consistent role model.
  • Working closely with teaching staff and the wider inclusion team to implement behaviour management plans.
  • Supporting students to develop self-regulation, social skills, and resilience.
  • Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and structured environment at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or in alternative provisions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage difficult situations effectively.
  • A trauma-informed and child-centred approach to support.
  • Flexibility, patience, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).

Why Choose GSL Education?:

  • Competitive hourly pay reflective of your skills and experience.
  • Dedicated support from an experienced SEN consultant.
  • Ongoing CPD opportunities including behaviour management and safeguarding training.
  • A meaningful, rewarding role within a nurturing and inclusive school setting.
