Job summary

Academics in Leeds are recruiting an experienced behaviour support specialist for a large primary school within the Leeds local authority. This role commences in September for two terms, with potential to extend for the right candidate.

You will provide 1:1 pupil support across the school and focus on implementing effective behaviour management strategies, adapting your support to each child’s needs. A DBS on update service is required (or willingness to apply).

Job description

Academics in Leeds are currently recruiting for an experienced behaviour support specialist for a large primary school within the Leeds local authority. This position is to commence in September for 2 terms at least with further opportunity to extend contracts for the right individual.

The school is based in South Leeds. There is a strong emphasis on behaviour management in this role, and the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their ability of implementing effective behaviour management strategies. You will be required to work throughout school offering 1 to 1 support to pupils who may need additional support within the classroom.

Due to the highly specialist nature of this behaviour support role, candidates must have previous behaviour support experience. You will be incredibly flexible, adjusting your level of support to meet the requirements of each individual student, whilst allowing each child the opportunity to enhance their independence and grow their individuality. It is essential that you are a nurturing and attentive individual with an incredible amount of emotional intelligence, to ensure effective support strategies are implemented at a suitable time.

You must have a DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one to be considered for this role.

Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's qualifications and relevant experience, and will be in accordance with the client's pay policy.
