Location: Wakefield

Salary:
£86 £100 per day (Depending on Experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

This is an ideal opportunity for someone experienced in behaviour support, youth work, or SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) settings who is ready to make a lasting impact.

Your Responsibilities As a Behaviour Mentor

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with behavioural or emotional needs.
  • Assisting with managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive strategies.
  • Supporting students' emotional regulation, self-esteem, and engagement in learning.
  • Working closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
  • Helping create a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment.

Requirements

  • Experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or in similar support roles.
  • Team Teach training (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and consistent under pressure.
  • A proactive and resilient attitude with a passion for student well-being.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
