KS3/4 SEN Teaching Assistant

Full Time, Until July 2027 – Starting Immediately

The position is for a graduate or experienced TA to support students across KS3/4. The role includes academic support, 1:1 mentoring, and crisis intervention for learners needing additional help. The school offers extensive training and regular CPD.

Responsibilities

• Support young learners across secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and PE.
• Provide academic support, individual mentoring, and crisis intervention.
• Assist teachers in delivering a consistent, calm and positive learning environment.

Contract / Position Details

• Location: Stockport, Cheshire
• Position: Teaching Assistant (Long term Non‑Teaching cover)
• Start date: September 2026
• Duration: Until July 2027 (temporary contract, full time)
• Hours: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
• Minimum rate of pay: GBP 100 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a 2:2 or higher, or experience as a TA in a similar setting.
• Previous experience working in a UK school.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued within the last year.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

• Hold right to work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
• Provide two professional child‑related references.
