Job summary

ACADEMICS is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support KS2 students at a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Chester. You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM in a long-term role, term-time only with school holidays off.

The role focuses on helping pupils with ASD, Autism, ADHD and challenging behavior overcome barriers to learning, within a nurturing SEN environment. You will collaborate with teachers to apply behavior strategies and develop personalized plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience in supporting students with ASD, Autism, ADHD, or challenging behavior.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for students with challenging behavior on a 1:1 or group basis.
  • Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement behavior strategies and personalized plans.
