Job summary

Clarendon Academy is seeking a personable and dedicated HLTA to work as a learning lead within our Behaviour Hub. The role supports students not in their timetabled lesson, helping them complete recap work and refocus for learning.

Part time 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (includes Teacher Training Days). The successful candidate will join a SEN and behaviour support team, with training opportunities and a commitment to pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths minimum (Grade 4).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a range of pupils, staff and parents.
  • Enjoys working with young people and building relationships.
  • Self-motivated, dedicated and consistent.
  • Calm under pressure and able to handle challenging situations.
  • Positive, resilient, and empathetic attitude.
  • Team player who can use initiative.
  • Understands social, emotional and mental wellbeing of pupils.
  • Experience supporting learning and SEN/behaviour needs, with willingness to train.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and support pupils who are not in timetabled lessons within the Behaviour Hub.
  • Support the Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour in day‑to‑day running of the Hub.
  • Assist students in completing recap work and refocusing for learning in lessons.
  • Collaborate with SLT, teachers, support staff and SENCO to identify barriers to learning.
