Job summary

IPMAT is recruiting Behaviour and SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEN, SEMH and behavioural or learning barriers across our Wakefield primary schools. You will help pupils access learning, develop positive behaviour strategies, and build confidence within a nurturing school environment.

Ideal candidates are patient, calm and team-oriented, with experience working with children and a willingness to understand SEN and behaviour support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people (school experience preferred).
  • Understand, or be willing to develop understanding of, SEN and behaviour support.
  • Calm, patient and consistent in approach.
  • Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils in the classroom and in small groups.
  • Assisting with learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social development.
  • Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning.

Salary: 82.62 - 99.14

About the Role

Inspire Partnership Multi-Academy Trust (IPMAT) is seeking enthusiastic, caring and resilient Behaviour and SEN Teaching Assistants to join our team across our family of primary schools.

You will support pupils who may have special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural or learning barriers. Your role will be to help pupils access learning, develop positive behaviour strategies, and build confidence and independence within a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils in the classroom and in small groups
  • Assisting with learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
  • Supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social development
  • Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
Person Specification
