This vital role sits within the school’s Pastoral Support and SEND departments, working directly with students who require additional guidance with emotional regulation, classroom engagement, and personal development.

Classroom Intervention: Provide proactive, non-disruptive support within lessons to de-escalate challenging behaviours, refocus students, and encourage positive participation.
Pastoral Collaboration: Work closely with the SENCO, Heads of Year, and Safeguarding Leads to design, implement, and track Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs).
Progress & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential records of student interactions, progress, and behavioural incidents using internal monitoring tools.

Key Skills: Exceptional de-escalation techniques, high emotional intelligence, active listening skills, and strong boundaries.
Personal Attributes: Patience, resilience, a non-judgmental approach, and the confidence to build strong, trusted relationships with disengaged pupils.
Safeguarding: An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a full check prior to starting).
A close-knit, highly supportive pastoral team and accessible Senior Leadership Team.
Ongoing professional development, safeguarding training, and specialist behaviour intervention strategies.
