Job summary

Languages United Ltd in Bath (UK) seeks an inspiring ELT leader to become Head Wizard of English. You will teach and lead our academic team, maintaining standards, guiding recruitment and development, and shaping teaching methods.

The role combines teaching with strategic academic leadership, overseeing quality assurance, course development and accreditation, with a strong focus on student experience.

Qualifications

• DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL or equivalent TEFLQ-level qualification.
• Substantial ELT teaching experience.
• Experience supporting, mentoring or managing teachers.
• Strong understanding of contemporary ELT methodology.
• Experience of observations and teacher development.
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to high academic standards and outstanding student experience.
• A collaborative and hands-on approach.
• Experience in a British Council accredited centre and experience of both adult and young-learner provision would be welcome.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic leadership and quality oversight.
• Lead teacher recruitment, induction and support.
• Oversee observations and teacher development.
• Manage testing, placement and student progression.
• Coordinate academic timetabling and staffing.
• Drive course and syllabus development.
• Oversee adult, junior and group academic provision.
• Coordinate summer-school academics.
• Ensure academic quality assurance and accreditation.
• Contribute to the future development of Languages United.
