Job role: Barista/General Assistant

Location: Central London

Salary: £13.85 per hour

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

Houston & Hawkes are seeking an experienced Barista/General Assistant to join our team at a prestigious contract in central London. This role involves providing first-class service, serving customers, maintaining cleanliness and stock levels, and preparing a variety of food and drinks.

Barista Duties:

1. Greeting customers and delivering excellent service
2. Making recommendations and answering questions
3. Preparing food and drinks to high standards
4. Maintaining display stock levels
5. Managing stock and ordering requirements
6. Learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, and food presentation
7. Checking brewing equipment and reporting maintenance needs
8. Adhering to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards

Barista Requirements:

• Proven experience in high-volume cafes or coffee shops
• Knowledge of coffee, teas, bakery items, and brewing techniques
• Passionate, friendly, diligent, and a team player
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude with a desire to progress
• Good organizational skills
