Hourly Rate: £13.00
Hours Per Week: Full-time. 40 hours
Working Patterns: Our Barista’s work collaboratively throughout the working week Tuesday – Sunday. Shifts can start as early as 7am and finish as late as 7pm
Days and hours will rotate weekly subject to demands and team availability.
House of Social Food Hall is Manchester’s newest and most exciting food hall. A collection of five independent kitchens, serving food and drink to suit every taste and time. We’re looking for an accomplished Supervisor to provide leadership support, steering the on-site team to deliver to our premium standards.
Located on two levels of Vita Group’s purpose builtstudent accommodation conceptHouse of Social, the new venuespans 12,000 square feetof brand new dining and drinking space.
Our Barista’s
Deliver exceptional coffee and beverage experiences with precision, warmth, and professionalism, Preparing and serving a range of artisanal coffees and drinks to the highest standards, in keeping with the values of premium brand.
- Prepare a variety of hot drinks to a consistently high standard using manual and automated equipment.
- Serve a variety of bakes, sandwiches and other food items from the Kitchen 1 and mezzanine coffee service area
- Follow exact recipes and presentation guidelines for all drinks, including seasonal and signature offerings.
- Ensure all equipment is used, cleaned, and maintained correctly, including espresso machines and grinders.
- Provide attentive, and knowledgeable service
- Handle guest queries, dietary requests, and complaints with professionalism and care.
- Maintain high standards of quality, freshness, and consistency for all ingredients and products.
- Contribute to tasting sessions and share insights with the team to continually enhance product knowledge.
- Ensure all workstations and service areas are spotless and organised throughout the shift.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety regulations, including allergen protocols.
- Monitor stock levels and report replenishment needs to management.

House of Social boasts 5 individual kitchens, delivering variety and luxury food and drink offerings to our guests. Our aim is to guarantee the best social experience to all customers and our House of Social Student residents. Our Barista’s play a critical role ensuring seamless operations. We are looking for:
Professional Experience
- Previous Barista experience, ideally in a luxury café, boutique coffee shop, or upscale food environment.
- Skilled in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art (desirable).
- Knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, brewing techniques, and flavour profiles.
- Strong communication skills and a polished, professional appearance.
- Passion for delivering elevated guest experiences..
- Our operations run seamlessly with the support of a variety of technology systems and software; our Barista’s must be technologically astute.
Personal Characteristics
- House of Social operate a multi-cultural environment, welcoming colleagues and residents from all over the world with a variety of cultural backgrounds and religious beliefs. All Vita colleagues must deliver a diverse and equal approach to colleagues and residents alike.
- Excellent communication skills. English will be the primary spoken language; however multi-lingual skills would be warmly welcomed.

- Resilience, with an ability to effectively navigate unexpected situations.
- Able to carry out tasks that may involve extended periods of standing and repetitive movements, with reasonable adjustments considered where required.
