Company Description

BaxterStorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team in Birmingham. As a Barista, you will craft exceptional coffee beverages and provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, filter coffee, and speciality drinks.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment.
• Create latte art and present beverages in a visually appealing manner.
• Take customer orders and process payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Educate customers about our coffee offerings, including bean origins and flavour profiles.
• Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and support colleagues during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Barista, preferably in a busy café or coffee shop.
• Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines.
• Strong latte art skills and attention to detail in beverage presentation.
• Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems.
• Food hygiene certificate (desirable).
• In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
