Job summary

Bard & Brazier offers an engineering apprenticeship with on-site training, targeting Level 2 qualifications in engineering. You will learn to manufacture components to drawing specifications, perform maintenance on machinery, and work closely with designers while upholding 5S and safety standards.

The program provides paid blocks of training with progression toward a Level 2 Engineering Maintenance Operative certification, with opportunities for hands-on experience across the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 3 GCSEs at 9–3 (A*-D) including Maths and English.
• Ideally Science or equivalent qualification.
• Team player and self-starting attitude.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture of new components to engineering drawings in line with timing plans.
• Carrying out proactive maintenance and up keep on machines.
• Liaise with our Designers.
• Maintain tooling to the correct standards and keep stock of all tools and holders.
• Reporting of any concerns, issues and repairs.
• Working in a systematic fashion following any instructions available.
• All work checked before taking off.
• Maintain working area to a high standard. Working to 5S’s - Good verbal communication skills.
• Work to the high tolerances.
• Adhere to company quality awareness.
• Meeting Health and Safety standards supporting others to do the same.
• Assist other areas of the business when required to carry out the same or similar tasks.
• Any other reasonable Engineering duties required.

Bard & Brazier is a Luxury towel rail manufacturer, part of the Davroc Group of companies. Our aim is simple ‘To Produce the Best Towel Warmers in the World’ Traditional skills mixed with modern machinery enable Bard & Brazier to manufacture everything in House, we even have our own plating plant.

Key areas of responsibility, duties and the deliverables expected:

Working Week

T the company: Mon - Thurs 7AM- 3:30 PM Fri 7AM - 1:30 PM

Qualifications Required

3 GCSEs at 9 – 3 / A* - D (4 or above preferred), must include maths, English language, and ideally Science, or equivalent related qualification.

Training to be Provided

Together with invaluable commercial and practical experience, you’ll gainseveral academic and vocational qualifications throughout your time with your employer and Make UK, which are fully paid for, including:

• EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering
• EAL Level 2 Certificate in Engineering Operations (Knowledge)

These are delivered in 4 blocks of 4 weeks throughout you course.

On completion of your studies, you will achieve your full apprenticeship certification that will prove competence as a Level 2 Engineering Maintenance Operative
