Job summary

Hastings Hotels in Northern Ireland seeks a Bar Tender for the Europa Hotel to present beverages and snacks with the highest standard of service. You will maintain clean service areas and ensure guest enjoyment.

Shifts typically 10am-6pm, 12pm-8pm, 5pm-1am and 6pm-2am, 35 hours per week, five days out of seven including weekends. Benefits include free staff meals, discounts, tips, service charge shared across the team, and generous holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Must have previous bar experience gained in a quality hotel/bar.
• Professional appearance required.
• Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• To present beverages and snacks to guests to the highest standard of service.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic person to become part of our Food & Beverage Team at the exclusive Europa Hotel.

The successful candidate can expect to work 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out seven including weekends. Shifts are typically 10am to 6pm, 12pm to 8pm, 5pm to 1am and 6pm to 2am

The salary for this full-time position is £24,570 per annum.

About the role

To be responsible for the presentation of the bar and the service of beverages and snacks for greatest enjoyment of our guests. To maintain the cleanliness of the service areas according to Hastings Standards.

• To serve food and beverages to guests ensuring the highest standard of service and that all guest needs and expectations are met. Typical tasks include, bar stocks, preparing and serving beverages, taking orders and payments.
• Greeting guests and responding to their queries
• To ensure all cash, charges, floats and till procedures are carried out correctly
• To use equipment and bar pumps efficiently, to maintain proper measures and ensure minimum wastage.
• To always maintain the security of stock areas, immediately reporting any breaches.
• To be knowledgeable about the hotel offerings and be proactive in the sale of these to guests.
• To ensure that guest concerns are dealt with politely and efficiently, reporting them to the Supervisor/Manager on duty.
• To work effectively with colleagues to ensure a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
• To comply with all health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as required by management.

About You

We would love you to have some similar previous experience, but this is not essential as our Food and Beverage Managers will provide you with full training.
