Job summary

The Hog's Back Hotel & Spa is seeking a Bar Team Member to join our welcoming team. You’ll deliver warm, friendly service and be part of a vibrant bar environment nestled in the Surrey countryside.

You will prepare drinks across beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and coffees, while building knowledge of our drinks menu and maintaining high presentation standards. Training and development opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Positive, can-do attitude and a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Previous bar experience is desirable but not essential.
• Interest in wines, spirits, cocktails and industry trends.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a warm and friendly welcome to every guest, creating a positive and enjoyable experience.
• Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and coffees.
• Develop knowledge of our drinks menu and confidently recommend products to guests.
• Ensure every drink is prepared and presented to the highest standard.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked bar area throughout service.
• Handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Build relationships with guests and provide attentive service in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to licensing laws and promote responsible alcohol service.
• Support with functions and events where required.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work opening and closing shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Continue developing knowledge and skills through training and development opportunities.
