Job summary

KERB Food Ltd is seeking a Bar Supervisor for Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden, London. You will lead bar staff, manage stock, conduct regular inventory checks and ensure safety and hygiene standards are met in line with health guidelines.

You’ll support the venue management team, brief and train the team, and communicate with the AGM on bar operations. This role focuses on exceptional hospitality and delivering brilliant drinks in a busy central London market.

• Providing excellent customer service and promptly fulfilling orders.
• Setting up the bar before service and closing it after shifts.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and alcohol service laws, including ID checks.
• Training new staff on bar procedures and standards.
• Representing the KERB brand and standards in all interactions.

Compensation: £15.45 / hour

Description

Seven Dials Market is our flagship market and as such, the largest cog in the KERB machine. Our bars must have a strong leadership team to capitalise on excellent service and fluid revenue streams. Your role will include assisting the venue management team with stock control, for example; regular inventory checks, counting, ordering, distribution and correct storage.

You’ll be the person that keeps the rest of the bar team happy and on task; ensuring they have the necessary tools, briefing, stock and skill sets to deliver the level of experience one would expect from a world-class food market. Cleanliness and safe hygiene standards in line with health and safety requirements are a core focus for this role. You’ll be expected to communicate regularly with the AGM on bar operations and will oversee the operations of the bars in the absence of the AGM.

To summarise, the role of the Bar Supervisor is to work closely with the management team and the wider team to deliver Exceptional Hospitality and Brilliant Drinks Only.

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing and providing guidance to your team, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Ensuring that cleaning mandates are followed on a daily basis, upholding the cleanliness standards of the bar in line and exceeding that of EHO standards.
• Assisting bartenders with various tasks, such as preparing garnishes, mixing ingredients, and pouring drinks as directed.
• Providing excellent customer service by promptly fulfilling customer orders and anticipating their needs.
• Assisting in setting up the bar before service and closing it down at the end of the shift
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and alcohol service laws, including checking the identification of customers to verify age.
• Assisting in the training of new staff and ensuring they are familiar with the bar's procedures and standards.
• Having a knowledge and love of KERB - our history, what we represent and what we do
• Possess excellent people skills, able to communicate confidently with staff, guests and traders.
• Keeping a positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and a willingness to problem-solve.
• Having an eye for detail and using initiative to keep the venue looking and feeling great.

• Being keen to work in a busy Central London spot, with regular events throughout the year.
