Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services in Fareham is recruiting a Retail Supervisor for part-time hours (25 per week). You will help ensure smooth operations, oversee a frontline team, and deliver high standards of customer service in a Defence sector environment.

The role involves checking deliveries, cash handling, rota planning, stock ordering, and compliance with health and safety and food hygiene.

Qualifications

• Previous frontline supervisory experience is preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a Defence, Government or energy services context is a plus

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all deliveries are checked and stored promptly and correctly
• Supervising a team, creating a positive environment where the team feel welcomed and supported
• Being a responsible key holder
• Using the till, taking orders and receiving payments
• Assisting with weekly bookwork and any other duties that are necessary
• Producing weekly rotas following the manager's guidelines
• Placing orders for stock to maintain the correct stock levels
• Delegating where necessary and ensuring the team are proactive at all times
• Complying with Food Handling & Hygiene standards
• Complying with Health & Safety regulations

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Retail Supervisor to help ensure the smooth running of the operations in Defence on a part time basis, contracted to 25 hours per week.

Your Key Responsibilities May Include
