Job description

Bar Manager - Pasture

Lead with passion, create great drinks, and help shape a team culture that thrives on hospitality and excellence.

Salary: up to £38,000 base + £13,000-£13,600 in Tronc (on average)

This role offers a base salary of up to £38,000, plus a competitive share of Tronc. 100% of Tronc is distributed directly to staff, averaging a total potential earnings of over £51,600 annually.

Be Part of the Original - Join the Team at Pasture Bristol

Pasture Bristol is where it all began. The birthplace of Fire, Meat, Music and the beating heart of everything we stand for. With its character-rich setting, flagstone floors, sweeping staircase, and open kitchen filled with the sizzle of live-fire cooking, this is more than just a restaurant - it’s a celebration of craft, quality, and connection.

From day one, we've stayed true to our roots. We source only the very best suckled native beef from farms across the southwest, all grass-fed and raised with care. Our in-house butchers dry-age every cut for a minimum of 35 days and prepare each steak fresh for service. It’s a level of detail that shows in every dish and defines who we are.

Behind the food is a passionate, tight-knit team, warm, welcoming, and dedicated to delivering unforgettable dining experiences night after night.

Whether you're stepping into the kitchen, joining the front-of-house, or leading service from the floor, Pasture Bristol offers the chance to be part of something truly special - the original flame that started it all.

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Bar Manager to join our leadership team at Pasture. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, understands what great service looks like, and is ready to lead a talented bar team in a busy, high-energy restaurant.

At Pasture, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences built around fire-cooked food, quality drinks, and genuine service. As Bar Manager, you'll be central to maintaining that reputation, leading your team by example, building a strong culture, and ensuring every drink and interaction meets our high standards.

What We’re Looking For

You’re a natural leader with strong bar knowledge, a cool head under pressure, and a commitment to quality in everything you do. You’ve worked in a busy bar environment and are either an experienced Bar Manager or a confident Supervisor ready to take the next step. You understand the importance of team culture and can coach, support, and motivate those around you. You’re highly organised, a great communicator, and passionate about delivering memorable service.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading the bar team day-to-day, ensuring smooth and efficient service

  • Coaching and developing team members to perform at their best

  • Creating a supportive, positive team culture aligned with Pasture’s values

  • Managing daily prep and presentation of all drinks to high standards

  • Ordering bar stock, managing inventory, and minimising waste

  • Ensuring full compliance with all licensing, food safety, and health & safety regulations

  • Hosting and serving guests with warmth, confidence, and attention to detail

  • Supporting the wider front of house team during busy services

  • Assisting in planning and delivering of events throughout the year

  • Handling daily admin tasks like rotas, training records, and team check-ins

You

You’re confident behind the bar and comfortable leading from the front. You’re passionate about great drinks - from wine and cocktails to beers and spirits - and love to share that knowledge with both guests and your team. A natural communicator, you’re as comfortable coaching your team as you are chatting with guests. Most of all, you take pride in creating a fun, respectful and high-performing team that works together to deliver exceptional hospitality, every shift.

Benefits at Pasture
  • The hourly rate shown includes a competitive share of Tronc: 100% of Tronc is distributed to the staff.
  • 28 days holiday - including bank holidays
  • 20% off food and drink in our restaurants for up to six people
  • Opportunity for growth and progression
  • Long service benefits
  • 1 day of paid volunteering per year, with a charity of your choice
  • Regular staff trips are arranged to our farm and to our suppliers
  • Employee assistance program provided by Hospitality Action
  • Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Pay
  • Wagestream
  • Company events and parties

In a nutshell, Pasture is about fine dining for everyone, with slick, engaging service, top-quality food and a team whose knowledge is as strong as its passion.
