Role Responsibilities
Food and Beverage is what adds flavour and flair to a stay! Guests love to enjoy their favourite drink whether it’s with friends, family, colleagues or just on their own. To deliver a great experience a Bartender will prepare beverages and/or serve food in a timely manner, helping guests to have memorable experiences whenever and wherever they drink.
- Greet guests pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and use up-selling skills to increase revenues.
- Ensure you are providing a top tier customer service experience that stands out from our competitors.
- Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guests and to control costs.
- Coordinate food service with Restaurant(s) for bar/lounge guests if applicable.
- Monitor guest behaviour and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to the guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired condition of guests; check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
- Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incidents to the Supervisor or Manager on duty.
- Take action to solve guest problems/complaints using appropriate service recovery guidelines.
- Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
- Perform pre and post-shift work (empty/fill ice-bins, prepare garnishments, replenish/store snacks, etc.)
- Check all necessary supplies in line with hotel procedures and manage liquor inventory.
- Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at close of shift.
Key Requirements
- Mixologist experience would be beneficial
- Experience in Food & Beverage service beneficial but not essential
- Hands-on approach with a can-do work style
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
- Ability to find creative solutions taking ownership for duties and tasks assigned
- Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
- Strong communication skills
