Overview

BH Live is recruiting for a Bar and Café Manager to join our team. You will be based at BH Live Active Littledown, which is short distance from Bournemouth Town Centre and you will be working for the region’s flagship leisure centre, looking after our hospitality areas that include a bar, café and The Lookout.

This is a great opportunity and you will have a primary focus on the Lookout Bar at BH Live Active which offers outdoor live music and dining experience within a rustic setting, with brightly coloured beach hut booths and luscious planting nestles underneath a pagoda-style canopy. The Lookout enjoys views across acres of parkland and is open daily for food and drink from 11am – 10pm Monday – Friday and 11am to 7pm on Saturday and 11am – 8pm on Sunday.

The Lookout hosts regular events and live music and this exciting role will suit someone who has a keen interest to drive the business forward and bring new ideas to increase our retail catering offering and generate and increase income. You will make our hospitality offering across the centre a place that our visitors and members can enjoy and have a great customer experience.

You will be responsible for the daily operation of all hospitality areas within the Leisure Centre including a bar, The Lookout and café area and you will lead and manage a team.

Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the day-to-day operation of all hospitality areas within the centre, including a bar, The Lookout and café area.
  • Recruit, train and develop a hospitality team; ensure food standards are adhered to and customers receive an outstanding customer experience.
  • Ensure adequate hospitality staffing levels across the centre and manage scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and licensing laws.
  • Manage budgets, inventory and stock levels; ensure efficient ordering and stock rotation.
  • Uphold BH Live values, behaviours and standards in all activities.
  • You must have a personal license and will be the designated premises supervisor.
To be successful you will need
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about delivering high levels of customer service.
  • Previous experience in a similar role managing a bar or hospitality venue with strong commercial acumen.
  • Hold a personal licence to sell alcohol and have a Level 3 food safety qualification.
  • Be proactive and forward-thinking, bringing new ideas for improvements across hospitality and events at the centre.
  • Willing to work hours aligned to the centre’s opening hours, including any 5 out of 7 days per week and evenings, bank holidays and weekends.
