Job summary

De La Rue is seeking an experienced Printer No.2 to join our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Print Process Lead, you will support operations and ensure machine outputs on print processes (Optinota, Letterpress or cover purposes only) and manage the varnish process.

The role is permanent with a 24/5 shift pattern (3 crews of 12 hours) on a 6:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00 rotation, with a base salary of £51,558 per annum rising to £52,413 after probation.

Qualifications

• Print machine experience is required.
• Ability to demonstrate accountability within a target-driven environment.
• Good eyesight with ability to distinguish colours.
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Exposure to computerised systems (e.g., SAGE) would be advantageous.
• Able to demonstrate problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Maximise machine efficiency to produce outputs within specifications and quality standards.
• First line problem solving on the machine and provide solutions.
• Control and monitor paperwork and computer records for accurate documentation.
• Liaise with QC to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete make-readies effectively and expediently with an approved pass sheet.
• Continuously monitor product quality.
• Report any machine malfunctions to the Print Supervisor.
• Ensure shift handover is communicated clearly.
