Job description

Our Banking and Finance practice acts for banks, non-traditional lenders, public sector bodies, and borrower clients in relation to a wide range of financing transactions.

The team is now looking for two talented Paralegals to join them in our Leeds Office. With a strong rating in Chambers and an enviable FTSE 250 client list, this is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary banking practice with national and international reach.

What will you be doing?

You will play an important role in assisting an experienced team of solicitors with a busy and varied workload and will work closely with other members of the national banking team. Your responsibilities will include supporting the team on the full range of banking and real estate finance transactions, such as:

  1. Assisting with the preparation, review, and proofing of finance documents
  2. Reviewing constitutional documents and Companies House records
  3. Preparing board minutes, shareholder resolutions, and other corporate authorizations
  4. Managing conditions precedent checklists
  5. Managing deal rooms
  6. Coordinating the signing of documents and assisting with closings
  7. Post-transaction matters such as registrations, records maintenance, and reporting

Additionally, we are looking to grow our client base, so you can expect to be involved in business development activities, including attending events (both internal and external) and preparing tender submissions.

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you will have already completed your legal education, including at least a law degree or equivalent. You should be attentive to issues that may affect your work and possess an inquisitive mind and keen eye for detail.

It is also important that you are highly organized, efficient, able to prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly.

To succeed in this role, you will need at minimum:

  • Completed your law degree or other legal qualification and/or at least 6 months of experience as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar role
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience managing multiple workloads simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems
Desirable but not essential:
  • Previous experience within Banking & Finance
  • Experience working within a large law firm
  • Familiarity with Loan Market Association documentation
