Job Details:

• Job Title: Assistant Manager – Documentary Credits
• Salary: £65,000 per annum
• Role Type: 2-year FTC (Fixed Term Contract)
• Location: London / Hybrid (4 days in the office, 1 day remote, on Monday or Friday)

Purpose of the Role:

• Ensure accurate processing of all transactions by the Documentary Credits team within deadlines.
• Develop and deliver training for all team members.
• Provide cover for the Doc Credit manager.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

• Issuance and advising of documentary credit products.
• Processing transactions per approved terms and reflecting activity on the bank’s GL system.
• Review documents, liaise on discrepancies, and manage payments.
• Respond to queries related to documentary credit transactions.
• Ensure receipt and processing of transaction fees.
• Provide technical support on documentary credit products.
• Cover for the Doc Credit Manager as needed.

Additional Role Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and direct the Documentary Credit Department.
• Create training plans and support staff development.
• Participate in new process and service initiatives.
• Maintain and update departmental procedures.
• Ensure adherence to AML, sanctions, anti-bribery, and other regulatory policies.
• Support compliance with Senior Managers and Certification regimes.
• Manage staffing levels and knowledge resources.
• Develop and test Business Continuity Plans.
• Maintain operational documentation and workflows.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5 years in a Trade Finance Department.
• Expert knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, URDG, Incoterms 2020, and related publications.
• Proven ability to check documents independently.
• Experience at supervisor level or above in Trade Finance.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to train, motivate, and coach colleagues.
