Role Details

Type: 2-year FTC (Fixed Term Contract)

Location: London / Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote, on Monday or Friday)

Job Purpose

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions by the Documentary Credits team.
• Develop and deliver training for the Doc Credits Team.
• Provide cover for the Doc Credit manager as needed.
• Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures within the department.

Main Responsibilities

• Issuance and advising of documentary credit products.
• Processing transactions per agreed terms and updating the bank's GL system.
• Review documents, liaise on discrepancies, and facilitate payments.
• Respond to queries related to documentary credit transactions.
• Ensure transaction fees are received and processed.
• Provide technical support regarding documentary credit products.
• Cover for the Doc Credit Manager during absences and attend relevant meetings.

Additional Role Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and guide the Documentary Credit Department.
• Create training plans and support staff development.
• Escalate issues with detailed resolution plans.
• Participate in process improvements and new service implementations.
• Maintain and update departmental procedures in line with policies.
• Ensure adherence to AML, sanctions, anti-bribery, and other regulatory policies.
• Support compliance with Senior Managers and Certification regimes and Conduct Rules.
• Manage staffing levels and knowledge resources daily.
• Develop and test contingency plans and BCP procedures.
• Organize workflow and prioritize tasks effectively.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years in a Trade Finance Department.
• Extensive knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, URDG, Incoterms 2020, and related publications.
• Proficiency in technical aspects of Trade Finance.
• Ability to review documents independently at a high level of accuracy.
• Experience in a supervisory role within Trade Finance.
• Strong attention to detail and coaching skills.
