An established industry player in the legal sector is seeking a talented Associate to join their Banking and Finance practice in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of high-value transactions, including international financings and restructurings. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience, a collaborative approach, and strong analytical and drafting skills. Join a firm that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and supports your professional development in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Our Banking and Finance practice acts for banks, non-traditional lenders, public sector bodies, and borrower clients in relation to a wide range of financing transactions.
The team is now looking for a talented lawyer to join as an Associate in London. With a strong rating in Chambers and an enviable FTSE 250 client list, this is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary banking practice with both national and international reach.
So, what will you be doing?
Based in our London Bridge offices, you will be part of our London practice and a member of our national banking team. You will have the opportunity to work with great clients on high-value and complex transactions, including international and domestic financings, re-financings, and restructurings. One day, you might advise a lender on an investment property financing transaction with a borrower group across multiple overseas jurisdictions; another day, you could work with a private equity investor on financing aspects of a corporate acquisition, or assist a client with debt restructuring or advise a public sector body on a residential development transaction.
What does the ideal candidate look like?
You will be a lawyer with 3-6 years of experience and possess good general banking transactional experience. You pride yourself on your collaborative approach and your ability to achieve results. An analytical mind and enjoyment of intellectual challenges are essential. Your pragmatism, commercial outlook, excellent drafting, and organizational skills will be vital in supporting our clients.
You should have an entrepreneurial spirit and seek a role that allows further development of your knowledge, expertise, and reputation. You will be eager to work closely with a partner, actively develop client relationships, and contribute to growing our regional and national business. You should be excited about aligning yourself with our practice areas—such as corporate finance, real estate finance, asset finance, and public finance—and/or our sector groups.
You will want to take responsibility for managing smaller matters independently and be a key team member on larger financings. Being personable, a team player, and interested in business development initiatives are also important. This role offers the chance to apply your skills in new ways and develop specialized expertise to advance your career.
